The Halton/North Peel Naturalist Club was originally known as the Georgetown and District Naturalists Association when it was established in the 1960s by people interested in nature and conservation in the Halton Hills and North Peel area. We’re a member club of Ontario Nature (formerly Federation of Ontario Naturalists). Members include people of all ages, beginners and experienced naturalists, learning from each other and sharing our encounters with the natural world.

- Insects, including butterflies and dragonflies
- Native trees, ferns and wildflower
- Ecology, conservation issues and land stewardship
- Nature photography
Our club participates in:
- Monthly meetings with guest speakers and social time
- Field trips, hikes and outings
- Natural areas stewardship
- Environmental monitoring and habitat creation projects
- Newsletters featuring club activities and member’s articles

- Local tree planting, clean-up and habitat creation, including Willow Park Ecology Centre, Norval
Amphibian monitoring, including salamanders and Frog Watch - Stewardship and inventory of local nature reserves
- Leading hikes and nature outings for schools and other community groups
- Providing advice to local groups, town and regional councils on conservation issues, trail construction, woodlot management, land development etc.
Meetings and Events:
Our indoor meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month from September to May, 7:30 pm at St. Alban the Martyr Anglican Church, 537 Main Street in Glen Williams, unless otherwise indicated.
